SPACES

SPACES, PLACES & FACES

Spaces is a co-working environment with a unique entrepreneurial spirit that originated in Amsterdam. Its platform was a pioneer that paved the way for its counterpart, WeWork, who mainstreamed the concept in the United States. When Spaces came to the US, they had an aggressive expansion plan with the intention of redefining the way work is done by cultivating a community of thinkers, achievers, and imagineers.

Spaces’ growth in LA was significant with 8 properties launching in just over a year. The Culver City location was a bit of a gemstone, though. Nested between Century City and Santa Monica, Spaces Culver City was prime for high-visibility clientele due to its proximity to Sony Picture Studios, Silicon Beach, and the CAA offices. Spaces needed to make a splash with both commercial real estate agents looking to place businesses and the community looking for great co-working space.

For the commercial broker’s open, DIA elevated the event by pairing Spaces with Karma Automotive, a luxury hybrid automotive company. DIA lined the entry doors with two $130,000 Karma Reveros, setting the tone for the party that offered luxury, high-quality space for savvy, forward-thinking entrepreneurs. This successful broker’s open was capped off with tours, photos, and test drives for prospective tenants, as well as nested their parting gift bags in the Reveros.

One of the pleasures of a co-working space is the community aspect that allows you to escape a traditional office space. For the grand opening, DIA amplified the community aspect by expanding the engagement space outdoors. DIA transformed a parking lot into a backyard game zone outfitted with giant lawn games, tenant skinned arcade games, an ice cream station, and taco truck where various tenants and guests could engage, mingle, and network with one another. The activation expanded the space and helped promote how Spaces work environment cultivates a community of sharing – stories, collaboration opportunities, and unique product synergies.

Spaces Culver City is currently enjoying 80%+ occupancy and increased their penetration in the entertainment and technology categories
